Prof. Young-Kee Kim elected as foreign member of the KAST

Young-Kee Kim, Louis Block Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago, has been elected as a foreign member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology. Her elevation to the Academy recognizes her academic achievements, excellence in research, and contribution to national and social development. The Korean Academy of Science and Technology is South Korea's highest academy of science.

Kim is also the Chair of the Department of Physics at UChicago, Senior Advisor to the Provost for Global Scientific Initiatives, president of the Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association, and president-elect of the American Physical Society.
