Congratulations to Caroline Piaulet-Ghorayeb and Donald Stull, who have been named recipients of the 2025–2026 Suzuki Postdoctoral Fellowship Award. Yuji Suzuki, SM’70, a longtime supporter and former Council member of the Physical Sciences Division, established the Yuji and Lorraine Suzuki Postdoctoral Research Fund in 2016 to recognize outstanding postdoctoral researchers. The award provides a salary top-off.
Caroline Piaulet-Ghorayeb
Caroline Piaulet-Ghorayeb joined the University of Chicago as a Margaret Burbidge Prize Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics in 2024. She earned her PhD in astrophysics from Université de Montréal. Piaulet-Ghorayeb is an independent fellow, with Prof. Jacob Bean serving as her primary faculty contact. She studies a variety of exoplanets, from small rocky planets to gas giants, using both observations and modeling of exoplanetary atmospheres and interiors.
Donald Stull
Donald Stull joined the University of Chicago as an L. E. Dickson Instructor in the Department of Mathematics in 2023. He earned his PhD in computer science from Iowa State University. Stull works with Prof. Marianna Csörnyei, focusing on geometric measure theory, computability theory, and theoretical computer science.
