John Carlstrom, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar Distinguished Service Professor, has been appointed as chair of the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics, effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028. Carlstrom previously served as chair from 2017 through 2022 and currently serves as Interim Chair. His appointment follows the report and recommendation of a faculty committee chaired by Rocky Kolb.
