Fred Ciesla, Professor in the Department of the Geophysical Sciences and the Enrico Fermi Institute, has been appointed as Chair of the Department of the Geophysical Sciences effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028. Fred previously served as chair from 2018 through 2021. While chair he will continue in his role as Deputy Director of the Center for the Origins of Life.
