Edward ‘Rocky’ Kolb to direct Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics

The University of Chicago has named Edward 'Rocky' W. Kolb as director of its Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics, a leading center dedicated to deepening our understanding of the origin and evolution of the universe and the laws that govern it. Kolb, the Arthur Holly Compton Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics, succeeds Michael S. Turner as director, effective April 1.
