Degree candidates must register for the ceremony in addition to submitting their application to graduate. The application to graduate will be submitted in your graduation quarter; the ceremony registration form becomes available in late March.
Graduates: complete the required registration form
Students from the following master’s programs are eligible to participate in the PSD MS Diploma Ceremony:
- Applied Data Science
- Computational and Applied Mathematics
- Data Science (beginning in the 2024-25 academic year)
- Financial Mathematics
- Masters Program in Computer Science (MPCS)
- Statistics
- Bx/MS (joint-degree) programs in: Chemistry, Computational and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Financial Mathematics, Mathematics, and Statistics
The MS Diploma Ceremony is typically held on Friday of Convocation week in the late morning.
Graduates participating in the MS Diploma Ceremony must wear academic regalia to participate. For MS candidates, regalia includes:
- Master’s robe (available through the University Bookstore)
- Master’s cap (available through the University Bookstore)
- MS candidates in the PSD do not wear hoods. Candidates are welcome to wear stoles.
Joint Bx/MS students are welcome to wear their undergraduate regalia to the MS Diploma Ceremony.
Graduates are welcome to invite guests. Tickets are not required.
Students who are inviting guests from abroad are welcome to reach out to the Dean of Students Office or complete this information form to request an invitation letter for their guests that may be useful during the visa application process.
Regalia Information for MS Students
Students receiving a Master’s degree have two options for regalia ordering: ship-to-home or in-store purchase. Please see below for relevant information and deadlines
How to Order
- This link can be used to order online for shipment to your home. The ship to home order deadline is April 26. If you prefer to purchase your regalia in person, you can do so at the University Bookstore beginning on May 1
- For online orders, select the option that includes PSD
- Candidates are only required to wear attire in the “Basic Package” (robe and cap)
- Master’s candidates in PSD do not wear hoods. Students are welcome to wear a stole (in the accessories option), but this is not required
