Earth Week stewardship: All UChicago members are invited to a campus and community hands-on litter clean up. Complimentary tools, gloves, supplies provided so you can join the stewardship effort to clean up campus, the Midway, and surrounding parks. Supply Pick Up will take place outside of Harper Memorial Library, 9–11 AM.

Part of Earth Week 2021, join Chicago Studies and Environmental Frontiers for a one hour Data in Dialogue session with the University of Chicago’s Facilities Services Data Analyst, James Novack. During this interactive conversation, students and staff alike will have the opportunity to directly experience a deep dive into the ENERGY STAR data portal, take a look at how the University’s environmental impact is displayed within the campus’ energy use benchmarking, and speak with James concerning questions about the aforementioned topic.

Mind Bytes is a celebration of scholarship and research computing. It is a unique event that brings together faculty, staff, and students from every corner of the University who share an interest in high-end computing, data, scientific visualization, and the use of computation and data to advance what is considered state of the art in their fields. The theme for discussion for this year’s event is From AI to Quantum Computing: Towards a Transformative Research Ecosystem.
