Mark Levin

Congratulations to Mark Levin, who has been selected to receive the 2026 Kyoto University Lectureship Award in Chemistry.

The Kyoto University Lectureship Award is an international academic honor recognizing outstanding emerging researchers who are pioneering new frontiers in science. The award was established in 2025 and expanded this year to include Chemistry and Physics in addition to Life Sciences and Medicine.

Levin is being recognized “for pioneering contributions to the development of skeletal editing,” specifically his development of methods that enable the insertion or removal of individual atoms within completed molecular frameworks, opening fundamentally new strategies for organic synthesis. He will receive the award and deliver his commemorative lecture at Kyoto University in April.
