Serendipity Sneak Peek

Thursday, Oct 10, 4:30-6 p.m., ERC 161

The new UChicago HR Resource Group UChicago Women in STEM (WISE) invites you to a sneak peek film screening and Q&A with Prof. Erin Adams, co-presented with the STAGE Lab — Scientists, Technologists and Artists Generating Exploration — a full-scale laboratory devoted entirely to meaningful collaborations among scientists and artists embedded in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering.

Their 47-min. film Serendipity features Dr. Erin Adams, the Joseph Regenstein Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Vice Provost for Research at the UChicago, and her son, August Adams. Erin nurtures curiosity in her son and students alike, maintaining a precarious balance between low- and high-risk explorations, and providing the guidance that she herself never received. This film is a project of UChicago STAGE Lab's Curiosity: The Making of a Scientist series. Opening remarks by STAGE Founder/Director Prof. Nancy Kawalek and Women in STEM group leader, Fay Booker, PhD.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Prof. Erin Adams.

This is a free public event. Drinks and popcorn provided. Please RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1012950641637?aff=oddtdtcreator
