2019 New Student Orientation

We are excited to welcome over 400 new students to Ph.D. and M.S. programs in the Physical Sciences Division (PSD) this fall. Several orientations throughout your first few days on campus will provide information and guidance. Please see the overview of important sessions below.

International Student Orientation

Friday, September 13, 2019

This welcome session is designed to help international students accomplish new student tasks like completing tax paperwork, understanding immunization requirements, and meeting immigration obligations. There's also an ice cream social so you can get to know other new international students!

Mosaic Orientation

Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20, 2019

This session will allow graduate students from historically underrepresented backgrounds (Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American) to hear from current students, staff, and faculty on navigating the University of Chicago and resources on campus. Note that each day has separate registration, so if you plan to attend both days you should register twice. RSVP via Grad Gargoyle>> (Go to Events > GRAD Events > Search and RSVP)
